Not all film stocks are created equal. Each one has it's own unique characteristics.
Part of the fun of shooting film is learning about what these characteristics are, and then use them to enhance your work. I spent along time testing out color film stocks when, trying to find the best fit for my style.
These first three are exposure tests using window light, meter for the shadows.
When I started shooting more with strobes, I wanted to do a similar test, using the different backdrops in my studio. Below is my strobe and film exposure test.
