A couple weeks ago Cat replied to something I sent to her by saying "this rocks my face off". It made me laugh. And I didn't think about it again. But yesterday, when I saw these amazing images of Cat and her family all I could think about was that phrase. And so, in all sincerity, I have to say that these images by Virginia photographer Cat Thrasher rock my face off. For reals.
If you haven't had a chance to check out Cat's work, you really should. She is one of the best portrait photographers I know, and is redefining the mini-session with her awesome Fab 5 days. A true inspiration!
Almost every weekend of October, Lulu, Jim & I explored a different local Virginia orchard to pick apples and pumpkins, drink hot cider, and take pictures. Last weekend, Chiles Orchard was on the list, and it was by far the most colorful fall weekend we had in Virginia. While most of the leaves had fallen off of the trees in the Blue Ridge, the leaves on the apple and peach trees at Chiles were just starting to turn and fall to the ground. We had a soft, orange carpet of leaves to romp on for a bit, then strolled over toward the mountain to pick out a pumpkin from the patch, pulling Lulu along in a bright red wagon.
